During the early 80s, just about 20 miles north of Durham, N.C., some friends and myself liked to go to an abandoned race track late at night and race our cars. Well, one evening after we had had our fill of fun, we departed for home. The other guys pulled out and drove east, while I left heading west. It was a very dark night with only farms and forest on both sides of the road. About 10 minutes down the road and without warning, a huge yellow-white colored ball of light passed over the road directly in front of my car heading north-south. The object was approximately the size of a two story house, and it was completely silent, traveling relatively slow. It lit up the night sky like lightning. It was almost like a brief moment of daylight. I've never been able to figure out what that was.

In the early fall of 1977, I traveled to the eastern Sierra-Nevada with a group of friends for my first backpacking trip. We drove to Bishop, Calif. and then headed west up to Lake Sabrina. We hiked from Lake Sabrina up to Blue Lake and setup camp. Later that night my friend Scott and I climbed up to a rock outcropping and enjoyed the show of shooting stars, high-altitude jet planes and satellites filling the night sky. Suddenly, faster than anything else I've ever witnessed in a night sky (then and since), we saw four to six intensely, bright stars, in a perfect triangular formation, streak across the sky. It appeared as if someone had cut two slits in the night sky, and the objects traveled between those two points.

North of Knoxville at a little place called Halls Crossroads in November 1975. It was a big, big one, no sound. Lots of people at a ballpark saw it, too, and the Knoxville New Sentinel reported it as being perhaps a weather balloon. It was no weather balloon. We were in a car traveling north, and I don't remember much but seeing this enormous thing with big, bright lights.

I sighted a UFO back in the early 70s. I lived with my parents on the side of a mountain in upstate New York. Myself and a friend were walking down to the horse barn when we saw bright lights gliding above the trees coming toward the barn and us. We increased our speed to get a better look at what it was. At first we thought that it was a plane flying low. But as it got closer, it was just above the tops of the trees. It was kind of like a colorful, pulsating ball of light, a bit wider at the bottom. Its lights were a little to the east of us. Then it angled west, turned 90 degrees and was gone in a instant to the north.

This happened around the mid-eighties when I was a teenager living in New York City (Queens) in a housing project called Queensbridge. It was approximately 8 p.m., and I was talking to a friend from my first floor bedroom window (he was outside). He suddenly glanced skyward and asked, "What's that?". As I looked out my bedroom window and peered skyward, I saw a huge object moving at walking speed above the rooftops. I couldn't judge the distance, but I felt I could throw a rock and hit it. I immediately called my sister to ask her opinion. The object was still "floating" noiselessly over the area, going in a northeast direction. It was huge, triangular shaped, with various lights along the leading edge (green, red, orange, yellow and blue). Being a student at Aviation High School in Queens at the time, I knew this was no ordinary "aircraft." I knew it wasn't a blimp because there was absolutely no sound. As a matter of fact, no one else seemed to notice it because there was no reason to look up unless someone brought it to your attention. I could make out the dark mass of its triangular shape but could not distinguish any features. About three days later, a friend said he saw something in the sky moving in the same direction over Manhattan from his third floor window. He described a "Christmas tree" type object suspended in mid air. On Saturday night, it was reported on ABC Eyewitness News in New York that reports were coming in from all over the tri-state area about an object being observed in the sky. Currently, in the military, I have never seen anything like it before or since, except in TV reenactments. I personally know three people in the middle of New York City who saw this. There must be countless more who never reported it. This is the first time I've spoken to anyone, outside of friends and family, about the sighting.

We were driving late at night in Utah's West Desert, the weekend of September 13, 1997, headed for Nevada and southern Oregon, when my husband and I saw an evenly-spaced set of lights in the sky. At first there were four, arranged horizontally; they reminded me of stadium lights, and I wondered if we were seeing the lights of a military installation or maybe a low-flying aircraft, but there were no structures, mobile or otherwise, to account for them. They went out one by one, from right to left. We drove for several minutes before we saw the next group appear. Two sets of four lights appeared, one set at a time, within a minute of each other. I remember seeing the lines of lights rotate slowly from horizontal to vertical and then back to horizontal again before they went out, one light at a time, again from right to left. They reappeared and vanished again in this fashion once or twice more. We watched the sky for maybe 20 minutes afterward as we drove, hoping to see them again, but they did not reappear. On the return trip, in daylight, we looked again to see if we had somehow missed seeing a light pole or an airstrip there in the dark, but we saw nothing but desert. Even the hills were too low to have been the source of the lights.

It happened about five years ago during a weekend in the woods around Mexico City. I saw something like a projection of light on the grass moving towards me smoothly and silently. There was nothing in the air, only a reflection on the ground, much like a lamp would cast if aimed at the floor. Nothing was above it, no car, no roads, clear sky, nothing above it. I had time to watch and check my senses. As it got closer, I was able to make out more of its form. It looked something like a chicken skeleton. It was orange, blue and red. I thought as I saw it coming, "It's going to run me over." It finally reached me (still nothing above). I could see it was about 3 meters or so wide. Then it turned sharply and disappeared over a hill.

I experienced a sighting of a UFO in around 1966 in the northwest part of Oklahoma City, Okla. I was fishing at Lake Hefner with a friend around 9:00 P.M., when something made me look up. There was an IMMENSE craft of some sort, and though it is hard for me to judge size and distance, I would say it was easily as long as a football field in length, and was about 100 feet above the surface of the water, approximately halfway between the opposing shores of the lake. It did not emit any normal aircraft sounds, but I 'believe' there was a humming sound. The reason I say "believe," is that I was so frightened that I have blocked some of my memory of the sighting. The object was shaped like two bowls placed together; in other words, spherical in the middle, with a rim all around. It was moving very slowly across the lake, as though it had come down to get a good look at the city. It was slowly revolving, and I could see 'windows' all around the edge of the rim, with a bright yellow light emitting from them. However, I saw no figures or images in the windows. The craft was silver in color, and I think there were other lights on the outside of it somewhere, but can't recall the color of those lights. It slowly continued in a southern direction, eventually disappearing out of sight.

We were no further than perhaps 20 feet from our apartment on the southern-most tip of Kauai, when out of the west came an enormous ball of light, moving very, very fast. It was opaque white/yellow in the center, with many colors around the peripheries. It appeared to have a tail of light. No sound accompanied the object whatsoever, and it was very low to the ground, perhaps as much as 100 feet above our heads. As it reached nearly above us, it divided into three balls of light, all the same size and color. As it moved to the east and away from us, we saw it divide into seven orbs. I telephoned a friend on the north end of the island and told her to go outside quickly. She described what she saw to me, and it was the same -- some seven or so objects of light near the ground. It appeared to be circling the island.

The following day, our newspaper read, "Mysterious Light Show" with a full account of what we had seen, including the fact that a similar occurrence had been viewed on Hawaii's Big Island the night before. No explanation had been found for that sighting either. It was identical to what we had seen.

While walking to a nearby restaurant (in Albuquerque), I noticed a metallic silver orb hovering in the sky some distance away and pointed it out to my friend. She said it must be the moon. I corrected her by reminding her that the moon isn't elongated, and pointed at the moon which was in the opposite direction. We stood watching the orb for about 5 minutes; letting our imaginations get the best of us. We hurried into the restaurant continuing to glance out the window every so often to see if it was still there. It didn't move. At meals end, it had disappeared.

On the news that evening they reported that there were many reported UFO sightings over Albuquerque. Speculation was that it was a weather balloon.

We live out in the Mojave Desert where there is sometimes nothing around for miles and one time my boyfriend and I and some friends were driving down a dirt road and we had the lights on (it was night) and the radio on and all of the sudden the car stopped running and the light and the radio went off for about 5 minutes. We didn't see or hear anything, but it was a very eerie feeling like we were about to be abducted or something. After 5 minutes or so everything came back on it's own and we took off fast (watch out jack-rabbits) but we never did find out what caused that.
